Beginning October 5, the fun continues for Kapuso viewers as GMA Network and Rebisco Topps Sarap bring back the musical-variety program, every Saturday morning, Toppstar TV featuring the cute and talented Toppstar Kids.

The second season of the program promises twice the excitement, laughter and performances as the Toppstar batch 1 kids welcome a new breed of kiddie stars on the show.

The kids, who were chosen from Rebisco’s on-ground talent search all over the Philippines, will come together to showcase their skills in singing, dancing and hosting to bring out the “topps” in every kid.

As part of the brand’s commitment to bring out the best in every child, every segment of the show is created to ensure that we deliver this: the Toppstar Performance showcases the kids’ talent in singing and dancing; the Toppstar Games allows the kids to play while learning new skills; the Toppstar Laughs lets kids have fun showing their comedic talents while learning wholesome jokes, and the on-cam conversations in-between that hone the kids’ talents in hosting and interview.

To complement the Saturday morning episodes, Topps Sarap will mount school tours across Metro Manila. Video snippets of these visits will be featured on the show.

This Monday (September 30), the first-ever primetime series of the RitKen love team—Ken Chan and Rita Daniela—sets sail as GMA Network launches its latest Telebabad offering “One of the Baes”. 

Half a million Filipinos are manning ships all over the world, but rarely has a female been at the helm. The Kapuso Network’s latest romantic comedy series dubbed as “millennial fairytale” does just that – empowering women, this time, on the high seas. 

Jowalyn (Rita Daniela) is bent on making waves to achieve her dream of becoming a ship captain. She is so focused on making this a reality that she avoids romantic entanglements.

Meanwhile, Grant (Ken Chan) is convinced he already met his one great love during his childhood and is on the verge of meeting her again. He sets out to look for her, vlogging his way around the world. 

When a pragmatist and a hopeless romantic meet, will it be smooth sailing or will they need to brave the rough seas?

The fun, light, and family-oriented series features some of the country’s veteran actors including Roderick Paulate, Amy Austria, Tonton Gutierrez, Melanie Marquez, and Jestoni Alarcon. Joining them are Maureen Larrazabal, Edgar Allan Guzman, Rodjun Cruz, and Joyce Ching together with the hilarious ensemble of Archie Alemania, Buboy Villar, Kenneth Medrano, and James Teng.

Incidentally, the program aims to pay tribute to our Filipino seafarers. Real-life maritime students from Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) are participating in the production of this romantic comedy series.

Adorable love team Ken Chan and Rita Daniela will once again team up, this time for their first-ever primetime project One of The Baes, which will premiere on September 30. The show will follow the ups and downs of Filipino seafarers. Meanwhile, the second season of original musical competition The Clash will return on September 21 with new Clash Masters Asia’s Pop Diva Julie Anne San Jose and Total Heartthrob Rayver Cruz. Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha, Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista, and Comedy Concert Queen Ai Ai delas Alas will also return as judges. Paul Salas, Edgar Allan Guzman and Jason Abalos are just some of the new additions to GMA Artist Center’s roster of talents.

Paul Salas, who was part of the talent search “StarStruck Kids” in 2004, stars as Chino in GMA Networks newest primetime series “Kara Mia.” In an interview with GMA Network, Paul said he is happy and surprised to have been given a chance to be part of a show. Also an excellent dancer, Paul has also

performed in the variety shows “Sunday Pinasaya” and “Studio 7. 

Edgar Allan Guzman got his start in showbiz when he competed and won in “Eat Bulaga”s Mr. Pogi in 2006. Before signing with GMA Artist Center, EA was also part of other Kapuso shows such as “My Korean Jagiya” and “The Stepdaughters.” EA is set to be a part of GMA Network’s newest series “Dragon Lady,” where he will be playing Goldwyn Chen, a Chinese businessman. He is also working on an upcoming movie titled “Bag Man.”

Jason Abalos, who was part of Kapuso shows “The One That Got Away” and “Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko,” shared in an interview with GMA Network that he’d like to try comedy projects. Jason is set to be a part of GMA Network’s newest series “Stolen.”

They say that sisters always have each other’s backs. But what if you share one back? 

After creating buzz on the internet with its unique and “memeable” characters, GMA Network’s highly-anticipated fantasy drama series, Kara Mia, is set to change the landscape of primetime television this 2019. 

Kara Mia features the country’s versatile and award-winning actresses – Barbie Forteza and Mika dela Cruz – as it boasts of an endearing but unique storyline certain to captivate the fascination of Filipino viewers. 

Barbie’s acting ability is beyond compare and she has numerous awards tucked under her belt. She has received the New Movie Actress of the Year at the 26th PMPC Star Awards for Movies for Puntod, Best Supporting Actress at the 2014 Cinemalaya Awards for Mariquina, Best Actress at the 36th Fantasporto International Film Festival and Ani ng Dangal Awardee at the 9th Ani ng Dangal Awards, both for Laut. Barbie portrays Kara, the kind-hearted girl who deeply cares for her sister; while Mika plays Mia, the face behind Kara’s head who has strong jealousy over Kara. 

Based on a true story from India and an urban legend in Great Britain, the series follows the lives of two sisters born with Disprosopus or craniofacial duplication, a congenital defect where they have two faces but share only one body. Until today, the origin of this condition, which is one of the rarest malformations in humans, is still unexplained, whether it is mythical or medical. 

Joining Barbie and Mika in this engaging spectacle are sought-after leading men: Jak Roberto and Paul Salas. 

Jak started his career in Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman. He has grown into a fine actor and has starred in several Kapuso shows such as Usapang Real Love (URL), Hanggang Makita Kang Muli, The Half-Sisters, Meant To Be and Contessa. Aside from these, he currently showcases his funny antics on Bubble Gang and Dear Uge. 

Paul, in turn, was born in the limelight. After signing a contract with GMA Artist Center, the StarStruck Kids Avenger is determined to prove himself in the industry. Not only is he an excellent actor, he is also known for his killer moves on the dance floor. 

In the series, Jak is Boni. He is a gentleman with an easy-going personality living a simple life who has feelings for Kara while Paul is Chino, Boni’s rich cousin who always wants to be the best. 

Playing vital roles in the lives of Kara and Mia are four of the country’s top-caliber actors – Carmina Villarroel, Glydel Mercado, Mike Tan and John Estrada. Alicia Alonzo, Althea Ablan, Liezel Lopez, and Karenina Haniel complete the star-studded ensemble.

Two of the Network’s sought-after actresses Kyline Alcantara and Therese Malvar play the important roles of Anna Sevilla/Elsa Dela Cruz and Ariela Lopez, respectively. 

Anna is the only daughter of a popular showbiz couple. She grows up to be a kind and respectful girl but fiercely protects the people she loves. An unfortunate incident changed her life when she was taken away from her parents. Due to the effects of trauma, Anna forgets her memories and lives a new identity as Elsa with the people she calls family. 

Ariela is used to getting her way just like her mother whom she aspires to be like.

Inagaw na Bituin is a riveting tale that started when Anna, the daughter of showbiz power couple Belinda and Eduard, was kidnapped. The kidnappers were caught dead but Anna was never found. Devastated with the loss of their child, the two decided to end their marriage. Belinda suffers a nervous 

breakdown and with her sister unstable, Lucy takes control of Belinda’s assets which she used to rebuild her singing career. Little did they know that Anna is still alive, living with her kidnapper’s family and changed her name to Elsa. 

Years later, Anna/Elsa and Ariela’s worlds collide in the pursuance of their music careers. Their rise to fame led to the unravelling of Anna’s true identity and the despicable secrets of her family. Apart from sharing the same dream, the two also vie for the heart of the man they both love.

GMA Network received several praises from netizens after it successfully unveiled the 2018 Christmas station ID (SID) “Ipadama ang Puso ng Pasko” last November 18. 

The Kapuso Christmas Station ID, which has breached the 1-million mark on YouTube, also gained over 1 million Facebook views in less than 24 hours. #PusoNgPasko was likewise a top trending hashtag on Twitter and the Christmas SID proceeded to be the number one trending video on YouTube for almost 24 hours. 

Viewers from different online platforms expressed their appreciation to the Kapuso Network for the inspiring message that anyone, no matter the circumstance in life, has the ability to also touch lives in a positive way.
