Dwight Ramos has powered through rigorous training sessions and tune up games against select teams from Europe, as well as the Ukraine U-21 team in Estonia and Lithuania.

This Gilas Pilipinas key player refuses to be slowed down by injury — and a big part of injury prevention is proper exercise and hydration. By fueling up and replenishing electrolytes lost during games and practice, Ramos doesn’t miss out on any session in between flights from Manila to China for tune up games.

Now in the final stages of Gilas’ prep behind closed doors, Ramos can go the extra mile with Gatorade, the official electrolyte partner of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.

Staying hydrated is the key to longevity – proven quite a number of times by another key player for Gilas and resident import of Barangay Ginebra – Justin Brownlee – who had to learn this lesson the hard way.

Amidst uncomfortable playing conditions in the Cambodia Southeast Asian Games earlier this year, Brownlee battled with cramps and had to miss a crucial part of the match due to fluid loss.

“His legs were cramping up due to the heat and exhaustion,” said Gilas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes when the Philippines lost 68-79 to host team Cambodia in a match played under 41-degree weather.

However, the six-time PBA champion bounced back stronger and more determined than ever to lead Gilas in their redemption tour, bringing the SEA Games gold medal within reach.

After all, in every 40-minute, high stakes game, players need to give their all while battling fatigue and exhaustion. That’s why Gatorade, the official electrolyte drink of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, plays a valuable role in the biggest basketball stage.

Players need to keep rehydrating with the necessary fluids and replacing lost electrolytes to keep them playing longer and the Gatorade formula has been proven to do just that by scientists, nutritionists, and world class athletes for more than 50 years.

With qualifying teams all over the world coming to the Philippines, the tournament can expect the world’s number 1 sports drink to keep world class players fueled up for every match.

To date, other countries have completed their lineup, while the Gilas Pilipinas coaching staff will finalize the final national roster after a round of friendly games with other participating countries.

Among those expected to play are Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic (Slovenia), Denver Nuggets’ Jamal Murray (Canada), Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Canada), Utah Jazz’s Lauri Markkanen (Finland), Chicago Bulls’ Nikola Vucevic (Montenegro) and Gatorade’s own ambassador from the Minnesota Timberwolves, Karl Anthony Towns (Dominican Republic).

Representing the Philippines, Utah Jazz’s Jordan Clarkson will don the Gilas blue jersey, rallying the country’s best athletes towards victory

With these basketball superstars on the stage, Gatorade is sure to make history one bottle and one game at a time.

Puregold rings in its twenty-fifth year in the retail industry with one important goal: to highlight life ‘Panalo Stories’ of its customers— Filipinos across the country.

Puregold begins by telling the tales of triumph of six sought-after personalities in the fields of entertainment, music, and sports. The supermarket retail chain announced its partnership with these endorsers through a campaign called “Nasa Iyo ang Panalo”. Featuring videos that reveal the journeys these individuals took to get to where they are right now, it singularly conveys an important message: that all Filipinos can win in life, too.

Vincent Co, President of Puregold Price Club, Inc., says, “Our success would not have been possible without our customers, who have been with us all these years. As we look forward to our 25th year, we aim to show our appreciation through inspiring Panalo Stories, in the hope that Filipinos will see how success is possible for them as well.”

Puregold’s “Nasa Iyo ang Panalo” tells the story of Justin de Dios, popularly known as “Justin,” the sub-vocalist and creative lead of Filipino boy band SB19. A singer, rapper, and actor, Justin once doubted that he could achieve recognition for his musical talent, but with sheer determination, he has become a shining star in Philippine Pop.

May panahong walang gustong makinig sa’kin; mga panahong gusto ko nang sumuko. Pero hindi ako nagpatalo,” he shares in his Puregold video, which has already garnered 3.9 million views to date, a testament to how many people listen to and believe in him now.

A beautiful face with stellar talent, as we have seen in the many teleseryes that she has starred in, Francine Diaz reveals a life that was filled with struggle. In her “Nasa Iyo ang Panalo” video, she gives us a glimpse of how much she has been through. “May mga iniyakan, pero mas marami akong nilabanan. Ang pagpursigi ko, walang cut, dahil alam kong nasa akin ang panalo.”

With her family as Francine’s inspiration, the young breadwinner worked hard to become who she is today—a gifted actress with fans who adore her, as well as projects and endorsements lined up for her to take.

Also featured in Puregold’s “Nasa Iyo ang Panalo” is celebrity couple Luis Manzano and Jessy Mendiola, both big names in the local entertainment industry even before their paths crossed.

In their video, the soon-to-be first-time parents profess how their love is their biggest victory, and how their partnership has led them to believe that they will win every battle they may face. “Hindi mo kailangang maging mag-isa,” the couple discloses. “May kasama kang sasalubong sa kahit anong ibigay ng tadhana.”

Conquering Tiktok, arguably the most popular social media platform of this generation, influencer, actress, and “Reyna Batangueña of the Tiktokverse” Queenay Mercado, also has a success story to share.

Now with over 12 million followers on Tiktok, Queenay, through her videos, took pride in her beginnings, which catapulted her into virality. Still, Queenay remains true to her roots. As she says in her “Nasa Iyo ang Panalo” video, “Isang maliit na boses mula sa malayo . . . ipinagmalaki ko at ipinarating sa buong bansa, at sa ibang parte ng mundo.”

With another inspiring tale of hard work and perseverance, pole vaulter and record-holder EJ Obiena completes the six successful individuals featured in “Nasa Iyo ang Panalo”.

EJ’s grit and determination led him to his status as the highly esteemed athlete he is today. He continues to compete and bring success not just to himself, but also to the Philippines. He says in his video, “Sugod lang hanggang tuktok, dahil kahit anong mangyari, alam kong nasa akin ang panalo.”

Puregold customers and followers of its digital channels can watch for more Panalo Stories from these personalities, and from ordinary Filipinos, as the retailer celebrates its 25th year.

As Vincent affirms, “Puregold is honored to have this opportunity to encourage Filipinos to take hold of their destinies and begin their journeys towards their greatest aspirations. We hope that ‘Nasa Iyo ang Panalo’ communicates a very clear message: ‘Success— Panalo is in each and every one of us’.”

In the grand finals of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 on Sunday, star jungler Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario displayed adaptability to help drive Blacklist International to a record third title with a 4-2 victory over Echo.

It was Wise and Jonmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna’s third championship together since Season 7 and Blacklist’s third championship in four seasons.

Blacklist threw Echo an early curveball when they picked up the jungler Valentina and opted to go with the triple purify spells to deal with Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera’s Kadita.

Wise had a fantastic game in the Valentina, finishing with a perfect 7-0-5 KDA to help Blacklist win the first game of the series by a score of 13-5.

In response, Echo used a shocking roaming Valir pick in Game 2 to cocontrol the match after taking a 2-0 pick off in the second minute of a turtle fight.

The Orcas won Game 2 with a commanding 10-3 kill count, tying the score after Echo quickly secured all of the turtle boosts and the lords.

In Game 3, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno’s team kept the pressure on Blacklist early, going up 7-2 in kills before being pulled back by Wise (Baratsclutch )’s lord theft in the ninth minute.

Yet Yawi (Jawhead) took matters into his own hands, using strategic flicker + ejector moves to score vital pick offs and ultimately give Echo a 2-1 series lead with a 4-0 shutout in the 13th minute.

In the fourth round, Blacklist took control early, going up 4-0 by the fourth minute before scoring two unanswered pickoffs in the sixth to win 7-2 and claim the turtle buff.

From from point on, Blacklist dominated, culminating in a 3-0 rout of Echo in the 13th minute that ultimately led to a 2-2 draw.

Blacklist dominated the first half of Game 5, taking an early 3-0 and 5-2 lead in kills and gold, respectively.

In the 13th minute, at 3-2, the defending world champions capped off their overwhelming performance with a 5-1 rout.

The decisive team fight in Game 6 occurred at the 17-minute mark, with Blacklist showing off excellent mechanical display to avoid Echo’s aggressiveness and eventually scoring a 3-0 wipe to give themselves a one-sided advantage in the midlane and a clear path to the victory.

In any case, it didn’t take long to start seeing red numbers. The Golden State Warriors lost to the Denver Nuggets 128-123 on Friday night, unable to recover from a dismal second quarter.

Disappointingly, neither team played very well defensively, nor did they prevent turnovers. Still, there were a few shining moments. So, let’s evaluate the two of them with the red pen. Regularly, my expectations for each player inform how heavily I weight each grade.

Take note that last season, the average TS in the league was 56.6%.

Curry’s point guard Draymond Green
27 minutes, 13 points, 3 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 1 turnover, 6 fouls, 4 for 6 shooting, 1 for 3 on threes, 4 for 4 from the charity stripe, 83.8% TS, +11.

The green light shone brighter than any other that evening. When defense was the name of the game, he played a lot of it. Even if this doesn’t appear to be the year of the miraculous three ball, he countered that with a great offensive performance as both a scorer and a passer.

When Green was in the lineup, the team played like a seasoned squad. After he stopped taking it, they started to disintegrate. He appeared to be in better physical shape than he has in a long time and was even a factor in the game’s final tally.

Excellent to witness.

Results: A+

Accomplished the game with the most assists and the highest plus/minus score, both of which earned post-game bonuses.

Toby Andrew Wiggins
Twenty-three points, eight boards, three assists, three steals, one block, and two fouls in thirty-seven minutes of play. shot 57.3% from the field (8-for-17), including 2-for-8 from beyond the arc, and 5-for-7 from the charity stripe (+7).

Wiggins started strong with seven quick points. For a period after that, he became completely unfeeling. However, he came out strong in the second half and played superbly.

While Green was the team’s greatest defender, Wiggins was the only other contributor on that end of the floor, and he made a few notable stops. Like in the first game, he made key crucial baskets and was the most involved player for his side at the rim.

The fact that he played for 37 minutes speaks something about his performance. Right now, his team really needs it from him.

Results: A+

Receipt of a bonus for ranking first in the team in boards after the game.

Kevin Looney Kevon
Four points, one board, four dimes, three fouls, fifty percent shooting, plus three in 19 minutes

Looney contributed to the greater good, most notably by his death. He also had a couple good defensive possessions against Nikola Joki.

But the Warriors need more than one rebound out of him. He didn’t do badly, but he also didn’t contribute much.

An A-minus

Stephen Curry
Shot 10-22 (65.5%), made 5-11 (33.3%), and made 9-9 (100%) from the charity stripe in 36 minutes (+9).

Curry, Wiggins, and Green were the only three Warriors who contributed significantly to the team’s victory. Curry attempted nine free throws for the second consecutive game to start the year. He’s still back cutting like it’s going out of style and dribbling his way through the defenders at an alarming rate.

He didn’t have a great defensive game, but he still managed to score 34 points with incredible efficiency.

Results: A+

Extra credit for scoring the most points after the game.

In the Person of: Klay Thompson
After 24 minutes, he had scored 16 points on 6-for-14 shooting, 4-for-10 from deep (57.1% TS), with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 turnovers.

My impression is that Klay wasn’t at his best tonight, but he still put up a good showing. I have high hopes for Klay’s upcoming year since he is finally starting to resemble his former self.

However, he had a rough defensive game and couldn’t make much of an impact when he wasn’t catching or shooting. As for the turnovers, they occurred because he tried too hard on a couple plays.

Strong showing by him, even if it wasn’t his best.

An A-minus

Kuminga, Jonathan
Eight minutes, four points, two boards, two giveaways, one foul, two for two shooting, one technical, ten points (-10).

Kuminga improved greatly from his first game’s tragedy, although he still didn’t perform very well. Because of his short playing time, he made several blunders and displayed terrible defense.

Steve Kerr didn’t help matters by putting him beside James Wiseman and JaMychal Green. I don’t know what the coaches were thinking, but I don’t see how they could have expected that to be successful.

A-For-Effort, or a C-Plus

The aforementioned JaMychal Green
Two field goals out of five attempts, one three-pointer made out of three attempts, 50.0% TS, -10 in 24 minutes of action.

Against the squad he spent the last two years with, Green had a hot and cold game. His aggressiveness in attacking the glass is a welcome change, even if his rebounding numbers don’t reflect it. This year, he’ll cause a lot of problems with put-backs.

Even if he puts out an honest attempt on defense, he was exposed by the opposition much too easily this time around.

He had some similar lineup issues to Kuminga. When he was on the field with the starting, he appeared much more confident.

An A-minus

Spymaster James Wiseman
11 points (4-of-5 FG, 3-of-3 FT), 5 boards (1 assist), 1 turnover (4 fouls), 87.0% TS (-14), 16 minutes played.

The game had its share of good points and poor points, as I expect to see at most Wiseman games this season.

The bright side is that he displayed remarkable mental toughness when it mattered most: at the free throw line. In the first game, he went hitless and seemed a little down about it. He made a strong comeback here. He also demonstrated good touch in the paint, finishing with care and elegance, culminating in a highly-efficient offensive game.

Despite his best efforts, he seems to be having little to no effect. On offense, he does a lot of neat things, but I don’t think they contribute much. Even with his minimal defensive strengths, he is a major vulnerability for his team.

Wiseman exemplifies the Warriors’ balancing act between winning and growing, since it is unclear when he will be playing in a game for the former or the latter.

This evaluation may seem lenient, but I have low standards for him due to his injuries.

An A-minus

To the best of my knowledge, Donte DiVincenzo
In 10 minutes, he shot 0% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc for a combined -13 score.

I’m still baffled as to why DiVincenzo was only given 10 minutes of playing time in this game, and it’s possible that he was terrible.

Evaluation: C-

For Poole, Jordan
Seven points, one board, seven dimes, three thefts, four giveaways, two makes on five shots, zero makes from beyond the arc, three on four at the line, 51.8% TS, negative twenty points in 27 minutes.

This was a brutal contest for JP. He demonstrated his passing skills and stepped up his defensive intensity in the fourth quarter.

Aside from that, though, he was very awful overall. The aggressiveness, finesse, and ingenuity that have been hallmarks of his game were noticeably absent from his attack. This year, he’ll be responsible for leading a unique second unit lineup while Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson sit. Perhaps it is the source of his problems, or maybe he’s just in a two-game rut. In any case, his performance was subpar.

Evaluation: D+

A postgame reward for having the worst plus/minus on the squad.

Moody, Moses
Thirteen minutes played, three points, one board, one assist, one steal, one turnover, 30.0% shooting, 1.0% threes made, +3.

During the first half of the game, the Warriors only used 10 players in a rotation, leaving Moody on the bench. After that, he started the second half in place of Kuminga and DiVincenzo and performed rather well, eventually replacing some of Poole’s minutes in the game-ending death lineup.

He’s still a solid player who never makes any major gaffes but also never really stands out. It’s impossible for me to predict how his evening minutes will break down.

Score: 3.5/5

Inactives for the Friday game: Ryan Rollins

Patrick Baldwin Jr., Andre Iguodala, Ty Jerome, and Anthony Lamb did not play on Friday.

This past Saturday, Blacklist International defeated Echo 3-0 in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 upper bracket finals, securing their spot in the M4 World Championship.

With the exception of the first game, Blacklist seemed unfazed throughout the series and secured their spot in next year’s World Championship in Indonesia.

The series began with a tense early game between the season’s top seeds, but Echo scored the decisive exchanges with a 4-0 wipe and the first lord in the ninth minute after punishing Blacklist’s assault in the top lane.

Though Echo secured lord in the 13th minute, Blacklist fought back with a diversionary approach spearheaded by Edward “Edward” Dapadap (Benedetta) in the bot lane and capped by Kiel “OHEB” Soriano’s (Claude) midlane inhibitor turret push to even the economy.

The following two lords were captured by Blacklist, and they destroyed three inhibitor turrets in the twenty-first minute. In the twenty-fifth, Blacklist took the lead with an evolved lord and a 2-0 pickoff.

In Game 2, the team coached by BON CHAN dominated thanks to a Jungler Guinevere pick, going up 2-0 after picking off a lord late in the ninth minute and 3-0 after a shutout in the thirteenth.

Blacklist had match point at 2-0 in the nineteenth minute as the Orcas held their own but couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities.

In Game 3, the Codebreakers showed their mettle by gaining a 6-2 kill spread and a 4,000 USD advantage in net worth after scoring three kills in a row in the seventh minute.

Using the subsequent illuminating lord, they refused to accept any other deaths.

Basketball player Ricci Rivero, 24, and his partner Andrea Brillantes, 19, held a couple vlog.

Andrea responded to some questions from their followers, even their friends, in the video she posted recently, October 4, 2022.

Their relationship’s beginning was the first question posed to them.

Ricci claims that he witnessed Andrea running around a fair when she was a small girl.

She was just 12 years old at the time, Andrea continued. He was unaware that Ricci was present.

They next ran into each other in the well-known club Xylo in Taguig City’s Bonifacio Global City.

The actress claimed that although it was her first time out, it wasn’t very extravagant. Andrea allegedly recently had a split.

He was invited there by buddies from a birthday celebration.

He has also never escaped before. Then Ricci arrived at the bar.

Many individuals reportedly applauded him there. It turns out to be Ricci’s party.

He introduced himself to everyone but ignored me, according to Andrea.

What did he think about Ricci at first? “My first impression of him is arrogant and stuck-up, guess who it is,” Andrea retorted.

Andrea acknowledged that she initiated contact with Ricci.

In regards to this interaction, Ricci stated, “You’re the one who messaged and followed.”

Andrea acknowledged this. He said, “The one in my private account has previously communicated with me, Cci.”

Ricci allegedly wrote him a direct message in the past, but he didn’t respond.

That’s it, we’ve met, he continued.

Did he ever consider a relationship between himself and Ricci?

Andrea said, “No. Not really. He’s older, a basketball player, and a La Sallian, so first and foremost.

“He exhibits every warning sign I look for in a man. Since I recently experienced heartbreak, I need to take care of myself.

In the UAAP basketball game on April 9, 2022, between the UP Maroons—of which Ricci is now a member—and the FEU Tamaraws, Andrea responded to Ricci.

It is known that Sandro Marcos and Alexa Miro are close.

Alexa is a relatively unknown actress best known for the steamy Erik Matti film ‘A Girl and a Guy’.

Sandro, who represents Ilocos Norte’s first district, is the president’s son.

On Saturday, October 1, 2022, Alexa and Sandro could be seen having fun at the Singapore F1 Grand Prix.

The Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore served as the venue for the F1 race and performance.

The two can be seen in the VIP section enjoying drinks and joking about with their companion in the photo released by the Singapore Grand Prix’s official website.

The primary performers for the concert on Saturday include TLC, Suede, Black Eyed Peas, and Westlife.

The two had been seen together previously as well.

In July, Alexa and Miro were seen together at a pub with several of their mutual acquaintances.

Alexa was spotted there on June 30, 2022, when Sandro took his oath at Malacañang.

The two were destined to be connected, especially when Lani Mercado unintentionally told Sandro about their illicit connection.

When Lani and Sandro first met at Sara Duterte’s inauguration on June 19, 2022 in Davao, their interaction was captured on camera.

Bacoor, Cavite is represented by Lani.

Sandro’s fiancée is “from Bacoor,” Lani teasingly said, and the young congressman agreed.

At the same time, Sandro urged Lani, “But that’s just ours, yeah.”

Yes, Sir, Lani said.

Because Sandro and Alexa Miro both hail from Bacoor, Cavite, internet users immediately made the connection.

However, Alexa and Sandro do not publicly acknowledge their relationship.

According to Alexa’s statement to PEP.ph in their interview from September 21, 2022, they are simply good friends.

“It’s still the same, we have a nice heart, we trust one other, and we’re very, really close.

Regarding their actual relationship, Alexa remarked, “I’m nearly like his girl best friend; it’s the same with practically all buddies.

He made no effort to hide the fact that he had met Sandro’s family and praised them for being “extremely kind and very inviting” to him and other people they had met.

According to the deputy governor of east Java, following a football game in the Indonesian league, there were at least 174 fatalities and hundreds more injuries.

After Arema’s 3-2 loss to Persebaya Surabaya in the match at Malang Regency, East Java, fans of the two old rival Javanese teams fought.

According to East Java’s police chief, Nico Afinta, the losing team’s fans entered the field, and when the authorities shot tear gas, it caused a crush and incidents of suffocation.

According to him, 34 people passed away at the Kanjuruhan stadium, the rest in hospitals, and hundreds were hurt. Among the deceased were two police officers.

When they raced to one exit, several individuals were crushed and suffocated, according to Afinta.

They exited through one point at the exit before building up, which caused shortness of breath and an oxygen shortage.

Later, a police spokeswoman said that 129 people had died in one of the deadliest athletic stadium accidents ever. One fatality was five years old, a hospital director said to local television.

Mahfud MD, Indonesia’s national security minister, said that more people attended than the Kanjuruhan stadium could hold.

He claimed that 42,000 tickets had been given for a stadium that could house 38,000 people in an Instagram post on Sunday.

Wiyanto Wijoyo, the director of the health office for the Malang Regency, had earlier stated that the number of injuries was still being tallied.

According to Wiyanto, the victims “died of panic, congestion, trampling, and suffocation,” while the injured were sent to several neighborhood hospitals.

According to reports, fighting broke out as hundreds of Arema supporters flooded the field. Players from Persebaya fled it right away, while some Arema players who were remaining on the pitch were also attacked.

Out of a throng of 40,000, up to 3,000 people, according to local sources, entered the field. According to the authorities, 10 police cars were among the 13 damaged vehicles.

Huge volumes of tear gas were visible in pictures taken from within the stadium, and individuals could be seen scaling railings. Through the mayhem, people were transporting injured bystanders.

Social media users posted videos of individuals cursing at riot shield-wielding police officers.

On Sunday morning, the streets around the stadium were strewn with burned-out vehicles, including a police van.

The Indonesian government expressed regret for the catastrophe and pledged to look into its causes.

We apologize for this situation. At a time when fans may watch football matches from the stadium, this regrettable act “injures” Indonesian sports and youth minister Zainudin Amali said broadcaster Kompas.

“We will carefully assess how the match was organized and how many fans showed up. Will we go back to forbidding fans from attending games? What we will talk about is that.

In Indonesia, where intense rivalries have in the past resulted in lethal clashes, fan violence is a persistent issue.

Because of the history of hostility between Persebaya Surabaya and Arema FC, Persebaya Surabaya supporters were prohibited from purchasing tickets to the game.

The match should have been held in the afternoon rather than the evening, according to Mahfud MD, who claimed that the organizers disregarded this advice.

He said on Instagram that “this sport frequently incites fans to express feelings in an unexpected way.”

Due to the disturbance, the Indonesian league has been halted for a week.

The president and director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru, Akhmad Hadian Lukita, expressed his worry and sadness for the situation. “We offer our sympathies, and we hope that everyone will learn something from this.”

The Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) announced that it will look into what transpired.
