This past Saturday, Blacklist International defeated Echo 3-0 in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 upper bracket finals, securing their spot in the M4 World Championship.
With the exception of the first game, Blacklist seemed unfazed throughout the series and secured their spot in next year’s World Championship in Indonesia.
The series began with a tense early game between the season’s top seeds, but Echo scored the decisive exchanges with a 4-0 wipe and the first lord in the ninth minute after punishing Blacklist’s assault in the top lane.
Though Echo secured lord in the 13th minute, Blacklist fought back with a diversionary approach spearheaded by Edward “Edward” Dapadap (Benedetta) in the bot lane and capped by Kiel “OHEB” Soriano’s (Claude) midlane inhibitor turret push to even the economy.
The following two lords were captured by Blacklist, and they destroyed three inhibitor turrets in the twenty-first minute. In the twenty-fifth, Blacklist took the lead with an evolved lord and a 2-0 pickoff.
In Game 2, the team coached by BON CHAN dominated thanks to a Jungler Guinevere pick, going up 2-0 after picking off a lord late in the ninth minute and 3-0 after a shutout in the thirteenth.
Blacklist had match point at 2-0 in the nineteenth minute as the Orcas held their own but couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities.
In Game 3, the Codebreakers showed their mettle by gaining a 6-2 kill spread and a 4,000 USD advantage in net worth after scoring three kills in a row in the seventh minute.
Using the subsequent illuminating lord, they refused to accept any other deaths.
