Keeping sane with Work From Home setup this pandemic

So you’re probably reading this at home during your break at work from home setup. You felt invaded that your office has come to your home? Yeah, that sucks!  Unfortunately, these are the challenges changes we have to live with for now hence the pandemic.

The biggest challenge I think is to live with it and accept that it is the new normal we have now. And keeping sane from all the unwanted happenings not just in our country but throughout the world.

As I mentioned earlier about work from home setups, I including maybe you or most of us are in this situation, which I know is hard since it feels like the work never stops anymore since you are already at home, maybe sometimes you get confused if you are working or resting. Having also home as an environment for work sometimes isn’t suitable for us, though it has some pros and cons for me I am most encouraged to rest than work and it’s hard to resist that lazy calling when you’re at home and my biggest issue working at home is there is more stress for me, maybe I am still in the adjustment stage of work from home and I thought I might need some eyes breaker from time to time and a little entertainment in-betweens or during breaks.

y8.com and Plays.org

So then I remembered when I was still in college and doing some assignments or projects at home, I just realized I can relate to that on my work from home setup. What I did during those assignments on my schooldays, to entertain myself when stressed is to play online games. Since I studied information technology I am mostly in front of the computer and when I needed just a quick break, I browse the gaming site Y8.com and play some entertaining quick games such as arcade games. I am a gamer at heart like I usually play PlayStation until now but I find it a little distracting for work and school since the games there need focus and should be played for a longer time. I love the games on Y8.com but it feels outdated and I’m surprised that some of the games I played before are not now playable and required to install another browser which I find a hassle so I tried to find a similar site or equivalent and I bumped into Plays.org. It’s just like y8 and I actually liked it more. I like the overall design of the website, it’s more user-friendly with bigger game icons and the colorful design is really inviting. The only con is that I think it’s a new site so there aren’t plenty as many games as Y8 offers but maybe they’re still adding up games. What I liked about this gaming site is the games they have! they might not that more games yet but they actually have my favorite arcade games, similar to what I used to play when I was a kid on Nintendo family computers! It’s just nostalgic to play games like Tanks, Tetris, and Space invaders these games are just my roots when it comes to gaming since these are the first games I played and I played them with my family, so these games are timeless for me and I would always allow myself to give in to playing this games!

Plays.org games

So this is my advice to my fellow workers from home, that an arcade game during your break maybe would help you to release your stress or energize you or give you a happy mood to face your work more efficiently and to avoid burnout
