As of this writing, we are in the second week of our Digital Nomad Journey in Boracay. We are just beginning to explore the culinary delights of this island, and when it comes to dining options, they are as diverse as the breathtaking landscapes that surround us. Amidst the bustling atmosphere of DMall, Hama Japanese Cuisine Boracay stands out as a hidden gem offering a delightful Japanese culinary experience. Recently, we had the pleasure of dining at this charming restaurant, and I can’t help but share my wonderful experience.

Hama Japanese Cuisine Boracay immediately captured my attention with its elegant yet cozy ambiance. The soothing décor, along with the friendly staff, created an inviting atmosphere that promised a memorable dining adventure.

Hama Restaurant Boracay

Katsudon (P390)

Katsudon – Hama Japanese Cuisine Boracay

Our journey through the menu began with the Katsudon set, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The crispy yet tender pork cutlet, served atop a bed of flavorful rice, was bathed in a rich and savory sauce, creating a perfect balance of textures and flavors. It was a dish that exemplified the art of Japanese comfort food.

Ebi Tempura (P640)

Moving along, we savored the Ebi Tempura, which undoubtedly showcased the restaurant’s dedication to excellence. The prawns were expertly coated in a golden, crispy batter, delivering a delightful crunch with every mouthful. The accompanying dipping sauce added an extra layer of flavor and refinement to this dish. It’s worth noting that their prawns were notably larger in size compared to those we’ve enjoyed at other Japanese restaurants we’ve visited.

Shio Ramen (P360)

Shio Ramen – Hama Japanese Cuisine Boracay

Shio Ramen was a revelation. The broth was a harmonious blend of delicate flavors, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. It was a bowl of warmth and comfort that left me craving for more. The pork also stands out, it was like melting in my mouth. The price is also cheaper compared in Manila considering everything in Boracay is a bit expensive than the usual.

Chahan (P130)

Chahan – Hama Japanese Cuisine Boracay

Chahan, the Japanese fried rice, served as a flavorful and gratifying side dish that perfectly complemented our meal. The meticulous balance of ingredients and seasoning truly highlighted the chef’s expertise in crafting this Japanese classic. Additionally, one aspect I particularly admire about Japanese cuisine is their rice—it’s noticeably plumper and more flavorful, adding an extra layer of satisfaction to the dining experience.

Crunchy Salmon Roll (P370)

One of the highlights of our dining experience was the Crunchy Salmon Roll. This sushi roll was a burst of flavor and texture, with the creamy salmon, crunchy tempura bits, and fresh vegetables coming together harmoniously. It was a delightful fusion of Japanese and Filipino tastes.

Iced Tea Frozen (P110) / Green Tea Frozen (P90)

As for our beverages, we relished both the Iced Tea and Green Tea Frozen. The Iced Tea was wonderfully chilled and served as an ideal pairing with our savory dishes. On the other hand, the Green Tea Frozen was a personal delight for me, given my fondness for Matcha and similar flavors.

Mango Jello (P250)

Lastly we indulged in the Mango-Jello and Chocolate dessert. The Mango-Jello was a refreshing and tropical delight, combining the sweetness of mango with the playful texture of jelly. The Chocolate dessert was a rich and decadent finish to our meal, satisfying the sweet tooth in all the right ways.

What truly sets Hama Japanese Cuisine Boracay apart is its exceptional value for the price. The quality and taste of the dishes far exceeded our expectations, making it a wallet-friendly choice for those looking to savor authentic Japanese flavors in Boracay.

With a bill totaling P2,340, I must mention that Hama Restaurant Boracay provides a reasonable price range – it’s not overly expensive but quite affordable. If you were to inquire whether we would choose to dine at Hama’s again, the answer is a resounding yes! We’re absolutely looking forward to exploring more of the delectable dishes they have on their menu.
