Michelle Dee was warmly received by fans upon her return to the Philippines after her participation in the Miss Universe 2023 competition. Arriving at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 on Saturday night, November 25, 2023, Michelle expressed relief at being back in the country after a month-long absence.
Upon her arrival, Michelle conveyed her gratitude to the fans who supported her, saying, “Thank you so much for coming here. It warms my heart. You know that I did everything… everything I could to fight for us. It’s a shame… really a shame, but everything that happens has a reason. I know we still have a lot to show to the whole world. We truly showed the Bayanihan spirit of the Philippines.”
While Michelle didn’t bring home the fifth Miss Universe crown for the Philippines, she emphasized the importance of making her fellow Filipinos proud. She mentioned, “My goal is really to make all of you proud, to represent our country as best as possible. You saw that we almost got all the special awards… That’s a testament to how prepared the Philippines was, to how much dedication, creativity, and passion we all showed the universe.”
Michelle expressed her appreciation for the special awards she received in the pageant, including the Fan Vote, Spirit of Carnival Award, and the recently announced Best in National Costume. Despite not winning Miss Congeniality, Michelle thanked fans who braved the rain to welcome her at the airport.
Addressing her supporters, Michelle stated, “Salamat. I love you all. I hope your support continues. Thank you very, very much.”
Michelle also touched on her friendship with Anntonia Porsild from Thailand, hinting at future encounters. “Both of us created such good friendships, as well as the other delegates. Of course, there are plans laid out. Just wait for it.”
As for what’s next, Michelle teased upcoming projects, stating, “A lot of things are in the works, crown or no crown. I know that we will all shine. I’m an actress, entrepreneur, philanthropist. I’ll continue all of that. Please follow my journey because… we really have so much in store. Just wait for it.”
Excited about her return to television, Michelle didn’t reveal details but promised an exciting project that is “very, very, very relatable” to her. Fans can anticipate more from Michelle Dee in the near future.
